Ethan Buck
BASED IN MINNEAPOLIS, MN. MULTI-MEDIUM ARTIST
My name's Ethan Buck, I’m an illustrator and comic artist here in Minneapolis.
We’re super honored to get to put out this line together with our friends at Crust.
I designed this line with our bike trips in mind. Getting to meet Matt and Chris and touring with them inspired us a lot and I was hoping to capture that joy of breaking out of the day-to-day routine and spending time with our friends out in the natural world.
While also emphasizing our civilizations' failure to accommodate and connect us to the world around us. We as a people, with capitalism at the helm, have evolved probably too far, to a depressing level of isolation and so far removed from what really matters on this earth. This line is hoping to represent a more ideal world to strive toward by maybe even de-evaluating a bit haha. To let out our instincts of simple living together, getting more connected with one another and with everything that inhabits our world.
Trains are bike trip mods, weed is the cheat codes, and finding joy in our pack outside of cities and civilization is the key to it all.
“Civilization is to groups what intelligence is to individuals. It is a means of combining the intelligence of many to achieve ongoing group adaptation. Civilization, like intelligence, may serve well, serve adequately, or fail to serve its adaptive function. When civilization fails to serve, it must disintegrate unless it is acted upon by unifying internal or external forces.”
-Octavia Butler
I get a lot of inspiration from old comics and manga. I personally think that they had it all figured out then stylistically. I feel like that nostalgic look plays well into the simplicity of the sentiment and also represents the yearning for a time before such a car centric world. Also all our friends are a bunch of characters and we’re always yapping and have silly catch phrases each trip. Participating in some cartoon character type behavior and sometimes letting out the harmless demons and truly goofing off.
Enjoy it! And enjoy it with your friends!

Our mission is to create an inclusive cycling community that encourages and empowers people from all walks of life to embrace the outdoors. Through our media, storytelling, and shared experiences, we aim to inspire more individuals to ride, connect with nature, and appreciate the land and environment around them. We believe cycling is a gateway to building stronger communities, fostering sustainability, and cultivating a deeper respect for the world we share.
We're committed to making cycling a tool for positive change both for individuals and for the planet. Together, we ride for connection, awareness, and a more inclusive, eco-conscious future.
